Are you passionate about lifelong learning and dedicated to supporting
individuals from diverse backgrounds? VegMin Learning Society seeks an
enthusiastic Executive Director to lead our Community Adult Learning Program
(CALP) organization. VegMin Learning Society is grant-funded through the Alberta
Advanced Education to provide adult learning opportunities in Vegreville and the
County of Minburn.


Position Objective: As the Executive Director, you will have a unique
opportunity to shape the future of adult learning in Vegreville and the County of
Minburn. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the organization’s smooth operation, aligning our mission with community needs, and managing resources effectively. Reporting to the Board, you will lead with a clear vision and a strong commitment to our learners’ success.


Responsibilities:
 Develop and implement strategic and operational plans.
 Engage with the community to understand and address learning needs.
 Develop and deliver instructional programming for foundational skills in
literacy, numeracy, digital skills, life skills competencies, and English
Language Learning.
 Collaborate effectively with the governance Board and demonstrate
community leadership at local meetings and events.
 Human resource and volunteer management.
 Utilize financial skills for fundraising, grant writing, and budget management.
 Liaise with community service agencies on community initiatives and
coordination of services.
 Collaborate with post-secondary institutions to establish pathways for further
education.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
 An Undergraduate Degree, preferably in education, business, or equivalent
education and experience in the non-profit and adult learning sectors.
 Passion for lifelong learning and commitment to community development.
 Experience in obtaining grants and funding for program sustainability.
 Familiarity with governance processes and working with governing boards.

Hours of Work and Wages:

 Part-time or full-time (20-30 hours/week), per applicant preference.
 VegMin Learning Society is open annually from August 1 to June 30, with an
unpaid facility closure in July.
 The official start date is August 1, 2024. Paid transition time is available in June.
 Salary starts at $32.00/hour, negotiable based on funding availability.
